NurseGrid believes that those who do the most important work deserve the best technology. Over the past four years, we’ve created the number one nurse app in the United States and rolled out our SaaS solution to hundreds of nurse managers. Now we are ready to go even further in 2018 by expanding our nationwide network of ~500k mobile users and rolling out our SaaS solution in the healthcare enterprise environment.

The Opportunity:

NurseGrid is seeking a Data and Financial Analyst to become the focal point for organizing the company’s various data streams so we can improve our ability to use data to guide business strategy and product development. The FA will report to directly to the CFO of NurseGrid and, as such, work with every department in the company to standardize data collection and reporting. NurseGrid’s FA should expect to work with data warehouses and software systems with analytics components, such as a SQL database, Salesforce, Quickbooks, Pendo, Intercom, and Excel/Google Sheets. The FA should be proficient with relational database concepts and practices and be able to evaluate and write complex SQL queries on behalf of clients and the stakeholders on the NurseGrid team. The DA will also work closely with the President and Operations team to maintain the source of truth about customer accounts and payments.


  • Monthly collecting of operational data and key metrics.

  • Focal point for organizing the company’s various data streams

  • Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.

  • SQL; able to create and to evaluate complex SQL statements involving numerous tables and complex relationships.

  • Assist CFO and operational managers in preparing for Board of Directors meetings.

  • Providing trends and forecasts and analyzing results. Explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions.

  • Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to CFO and operational management.

  • Reconciles transactions, such as customer lists and MRR, by comparing and correcting data.

  • Maintains databases by entering, verifying, and backing up data.

  • Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods.

  • Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications; coordinating information requirements.

  • Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications


Who you are:

  • 2 to 4+ years of experience;

  • 1 to 3+ years of providing analytics reports to key stakeholders

  • Highly organized and thorough in all forms of communication

  • Strong experience integrating across multiple teams and with executive-level   stakeholders

  • Proven ability to tell stories and communicate trends through data

  • Comfort with various types of data, from software product usage data to financial data

  • Very proficient in:

    • SQL, SalesForce, Excel, Intercom, Data Warehouses, PowerPoint, QuickBooks, Google Docs and Sheets

  • Experience with Pendo and HubSpot is a plus
